Running, Jumping, and Lunging in the Grass over 40

I never guessed that I would be running, jumping, and lunging in the across a field at 46 years old!

Mother’s Day weekend, I went to an open space with my two active teenagers to play with a Frisbee like thing called Aerobie.  None of us were particularly skilled at aiming when we started and plus the wind interfered a bit as we remembered our skills.  That meant I was running, jumping, lunging for this awesome toy before sending it soaring again across the lawn to the next kid.  It was totally fun! 

At some point I realized that I hadn’t played like that in quite some time. As I felt my foot land on uneven Earth as I ran or jumped, I wondered briefly if I would have sore ankles the next day. Or sore knees.

I wondered if I might just be generally sore or even hurt from playing so hard doing something I had not done in a very long time. Then, as I continued to toss, run, and catch, I realized that I felt incredibly energized and JAZZED in my body.  I also realized that 10 years ago, I would not have had the motivation or energy to play as I was playing now.  If I had, the physical pain I would have experienced would have shut it down pretty quick. 

Guess what? I felt great the next day.  No soreness at all from the intense frolicking.  I considered how I might have felt 10 or 20 years ago after playing like that.  I would have been a stiff mess and surely would have hurt knee or ankle or back.

How great I feel in my body now, I owe to the practice of Pangu Shengong.

I owe how great I feel in my body now, in my mid-forties, to the practice of Pangu Shengong.  My health is great, I rarely get sick – and if I do it is very short lived – I am enjoying my life and my family in ways I never thought possible.  My anxiety is nearly non-existent and I sleep well and wake rested.  This is not how I experienced life in my 20s and 30s.  I have much gratitude for learning to cultivate and balance my energy, emotions, and spirit though a Qi Gong practice called Pangu Shengong.

Coming the weekend of June 22-25, my teacher Qi Gong GrandMaster Ou, Wen Wei will be in Raleigh for an annual visit. If you are new to the concept of Qi (life force), Qi Gong (cultivation of life force) and improving you health and life with this practice you may want to attend a lecture and meditation event on Saturday Morning June 23, 9-10;30am.  Master Ou will be sharing about Pangu Shengong and also sharing healing energy.  The cost to attend this event which is also a fundraiser for the Golden Hill Foundation is only $25 or $35 per family.  The Golden Hill Foundation is a local non profit that seeks to bring qi gong, meditation, mindfulness, tai chi and yoga to at-risk youth and their familes in the Raleigh area.

Following this lecture and meditation will be the Foundational Qi Cultivation Moving Form Qi Gong class from 11-12:30pm.  This is the first level of Pangu Shengong.  Many of you seeing this may have taken this Moving Form Qi Gong from me or another ceritified instructor.  You can retake it with Master Ou for $60.  It is powerful to retake any of Pangu Shengong classes.  I always retake these classes when I have the opportunity. June 2018 Qi Gong Grandmaster Ou returns to Raleigh

June 22-25, 2018, Qi Gong Grandmaster Ou returns to Raleigh.  Most of you reading this know how the practice of Pangu Shengong has changed my life. When I think about how my life and health were before March of 2012, this practice has probably saved my life in many ways. This is an opportunity for qi gong instruction and so much more.

There is a simple, effective method to balance energy, emotions, and improve your health

If you want to learn more about Master Ou and what this powerful form of Qi Gong (which means a way to cultivate/balance your energy), the first event Saturday Morning, June 23, 9-10:30am is a great opportunity: Golden Hill Meditation.  This is low-cost way ($25/$35 per family) to experience the balancing healing energy in Pangu Shengong – a special and unique form of qi gong that works deeply in dedicated practitioners to heal and strengthen the body and  also the heart and soul.  Qi Gong practice (especially regular practice of Pangu Shengong) can improve your health, your immunity, and emotional state.  How does it get better than that? I am really enjoying finding out.

This informal video from a couple of weeks ago shares one way this practice has impacted my life. Then I give a quick summary of the Golden Hill Foundation Meditation and Pangu Raleigh Weekend.

Below are some suggestions for June 23-24 especially.  Please note that the Sunday Group Healing Session is full.  There’s lots of room now on Monday, June 24, in the Group Healing Meditation. The Monday session will also fill.

June 22-25, 2018 in Raleigh. Most events (except Advanced Student Trainings and Group Healings) are at aLoft hotel on Hillsborough Street across from NCSU Belltower.
The bulk of the classes that are pertinent to people reading this are Saturday, June 23 and some on Sunday, June 24. If you are interested and meet pre-qualifications for Advanced classes or Teacher Training, I highly encourage this.
Saturday, June 23
1) Golden Hill Meditation, Sat June 23 9-10:30. $25/$35 per family. Want a refresher on why Pangu Shengong is so powerful and experience healing energy from Master Ou? This is a fundraiser for the local Golden Hill Foundation and intended as an informational session about Qi Gong and Pangu Shengong particularly. It’s a great way to let someone new know about the practice with a small donation of $25.
2) Take or Retake the Moving Form (Foundational Qi Cultivation): $120; Only $60 if you already took it from me or another certified teacher. I ALWAYS retake these classes; whether you have been practicing or not, this is a powerful experience. If you have fallen off in practice, it’s a great kickstart…
3) Medical Qi Gong (Healing) Skill Development: Sat, June 23, 2:00-3:30pm. $150/$75 retake. If you work with other people or have people in your life who could use support or if you feel drained in that work, this is a neat way to learn a valuable skill to support your practice and those people in your lives.
3) Take or Retake the Non Moving Form (Pangu Shengong Second Level – Cognitive and Sensory Perception Development). Sat. June 23, 4:00-5:30: $120 or $60 for retake. This practice is an amazing meditation and very deeply healing especially for neurological, emotional, sleep, or heart issues. I also retake this one every chance I get. If you have been practicing the Moving Form (Foundational Qi Cultivation) for at least a month regularly, you can take this class.
4) Pangu Tai Chi (aka Returning Form Tai Chi Chu’an). $80 for all three sessions (over 3 days). If you have taken Pangu Tai Chi with me at least once (it’s okay if its not memorized fully) or with another one of Master Chu’s students (or Master Chu), you can take this 6 hour class that will be broken up over 3 days. Sunday, June 24
 
1) Group Healing, no prerequisite, Sunday June 24 10-12. Nearly Full – See Monday on the schedule if you are interested http://www.pangu.org/events/raleigh-2018/
2) Pangu Yoga, [FULL] Sun., June 24 1-3 Sign Up Directly here at Anisha’s website: This is the practice that introduced me to Pangu Shengong. I am so grateful. This is workshop, healing, and yoga class in one! No prerequisites– It is another way to share the practice of Pangu Shengong with someone who isn’t practicing. I heard that this was almost full too, but we might be able to open more space.
3) Advanced Condensed Form: Sun, June 24, 3:30-4:45pm, $150/$75 retake. This is the third part of the practice of Pangu Shengong. If you have not learned it yet and you have been diligently practicing the Moving and Non Moving Form for at least 6 months, please thoughtfully consider this class. Only Master Ou teaches it, so if you aren’t ready now, you can consider it for next year. For me, this heart-broadening practice, let’s me REACH OUT more, deeper. On-Line and On-Demand Free Guided Meditation for New Intentions

On January 1, I recorded a live 35-minute video New Year’s meditation focused on supporting participants to set an intention for what’s next for them (short or long term) and worked with gently releasing what could get in the way of staying on track with that intention.

I have edited my voice hijacking (love that live video!) and trimmed the beginning announcements. For those of you who have listened to it – either live or later – I appreciate the feedback!

You are welcome to listen to it as often as you like.

I encourage you to consider these sentiments below, not only while doing the meditation, but anytime you are focused on a new intention or a new goal.

  • Use your breath to imagine bringing space to tight places in the body and also bringing the breath to places where you have “stories” or beliefs that feel tight and restricting.
  • Notice how certain emotions – when you stay with them – make the body feel tense.  Get curious about what it would be like to have more space around that emotion. There’s nothing wrong with the emotion – it’s good for us to keep them moving. Play with this idea in your imagination. What if being stuck wasn’t true?
  • Keep intentions broad whenever possible.  Notice where ego or fear can narrow your intentions: This can look like resistance, judgment, resentment, etc.
  • Focusing ATTENTION – ENERGIZES.  Adding a broad INTENTION – ORGANIZES that ENERGY.

What if it were true that there were Unlimited Possibilities for you in the future?

Wanted to touch base with you about Ql Gong and my feelings.  First, each time I [practice Qi Gong] my hands get very warm and a little tingly.  Second, I have been falling asleep much quicker than before and I haven’t been waking up during the night, getting 6 to 7 hrs of uninterrupted sleep.
